About Our Products & Care For Them

Our Products
Each and every product is handmade by the hands of Katie Gariepy. Our shop is very original, and all designs have been adapted from my mind. I draw inspiration from everything, but do not copy or reproduce anything besides my orignal pieces and works.

Materials We Use
The materials we use come from all over the world, I'm a big fan of ordering offline, but I also stay close to home. Some of my favorite places to shop and buy things consist of: Elmwood Village Fabrics, an amazing fabric store on the best street in all of Buffalo. The woman who runs it is also very nice, and their fabrics are the best things around. I can't get enough of them! I am also a huge fan of Mokuba Ribbon in Toronto, Ontario. I love buying the little things that make the big picture something wonderful. And of course, I will always stick to Joann Fabrics & AC Moore for all the need and goodness you can every look for.

How To Care For Your Items
No one likes a dirty product, so here are ways to care for the items you buy from us.
Screen Printed Items: Never iron on the screen printed image, you can iron around them but you must be careful!
Screen Printed T-shirts: Once again, don't iron the image, these t-shirts are pre-shrunken and the images have been printed on American Apparel tees, they keep their softness and shape very well so wash like any other shirt.
Handmade Clothing: Each piece is different, but since they are all stitched with a sewing machine and not yet by serger, they are less likly to pill or the stitches to come out. It is suggested that you wash them in the washing machine and then hang them out to dry. That is what I do with the items I wear that I've made and they have all come out perfectly fine. I have actually put some through the wash too, the ones with far less detail, jumpers and simple knits dresses are perfectly fine when washed & dried in machines.
Plushies: Use a damp cloth (perferably one with no fuzzies, otherwise you'll get some weird stuff going on there!) and slowly bloat out anything you may have gotten on the plush. I suggest to not put these in the washing machine, but because they are all felt they may be okay. They are all filled with a polyester filling so just be aware of what you're doing before you do so!
Bags: All of our bags have a lot of detail, I suggest any bag to be simply hand washed and hung to dry, but bags with less detail (screen printed ones, or any of our square totes) can be put through the washing machine but once again hung to dry so they do not shrink.
Jewelry: All of our jewelry is extremly fragile, if you need to clean it, be very careful and simply use a damp cloth. Shrinky dink jewelry should be fine if you get it wet because they have all been coated in a clear spray coat. Sometimes too much scratching on it though can wear away the image, please be careful! Fimo jewelry is the most fragile of them all, these delicate pieces will not like it if you drop them, so hold on tight but not too tight! The fimo pieces are generally not for children because they like to pull and tug at the cute characters, but if your child is well behaved have at it!
Paper Goods: Just don't have any liquids near them, they are not invincible. Our prints will not hold up if you pour liquid on them and our stickers will have runny ink, no fun!

The Question of All Time: Why Do We Make These Things?!
For a very long time, I have loved to create. It doesn't matter what I'm making, as long as I am, and I am perfectly happy with that. I aspire to create goods my whole life. Everything I make is what I would use myself if I were the buyer. They are things I adore, from cute, to classy, to simple, to chic, the list goes on. It is all my style, and there are many others out there who enjoy the same things I do and those are who I have in mind all the time.
